Actually, playing badminton is one of our hobbies. playing badminton keeps us feeling well, strong, motivated, enthusiastic and young. It helps to ward off depression, anxiety, stress and increase self-esteem. It also helps in enjoying a better sleep in the night, thereby minimizing the incidence of pre-existing illnesses getting aggravated due to lack of sleep.

Badminton was found in ancient time of Greece and Egypt. It was then came from a game called battledore and shuttlecock. This game is played by two persons with small racket, called battledores, made of parchment or rows of gut stretched across wooden frames, and shuttlecock, made of a base of some light material, like cork, with trimmed feathers fixed round the top. The Objective of the game was to keep a feathered shuttlecock in the air with small racket.
The game was brought to England in 1860s, and play as a upper class entertainment. It was officially launched in 1873. In 1893, the Badminton Association of England published the first set of rules which similar to today's rules. The first badminton competition was called All England Open Badminton Championship in 1899.

International Badminton Federation (IBF), was only founded in 1934. The founding member are mainly European countries such as Denmark, Canada, Wales, Netherlands, France and many more.

While originated in England, but in world class level of competition, it has been dominated by a few Asian countries such as China, Malaysia, Indonesia and South Korea , plus Denmark from Europe. The world class well known badminton play in the 21st century are Lin Dan, Taufik Hidayat, Peter Gade, Lee Chong Wei
